Here we are half way through the month and so far so good, even though writing every night has definitely taken it's toll on my evenings. While I have ideas for upcoming posts that I am working on, there have been some nights where I have really struggled to find something to write.
Spending this much time with my blog has also made me think more about the redesign that I've been talking about for a long time. Sites like Baby Rabies and Mama's Losin' It have both recently gone through redesigns that look great. I look at these sites, and it makes me think how I might want to change things around here. One major change I'm considering is making the change to Wordpress, although I am not completely sold since Blogger is working for me. The thing that I like the least about Blogger is the comment system, and I am not sure that is reason enough to change it all.
As the month goes on, I'll see how I feel.

It's a Hot, Hot Month
In an effort to really get started, I've decided to participate in NaBloPoMo. The theme this month is hot, which seems appropriate given the weather we've been having. While I plan posting every day on August, I am also hoping on working on my redesign, Facebook, Google +, and Twitter pages. Please check them out and follow me if you haven't already.
So here are four days down, only twenty-eight to go.

Moral of the Story? Don't Procrastinate.
I had been slowly working on things around here, updating and working on new posts. Then this happened about a week earlier than I expected.
There was a lot of stuff that I had planned to finish first, both here and in life. Just goes to show you that life doesn't always work out as you plan.
Right now, Hubby, Munchkin and I are adjusting to life at home with Peanut. Things are gong to slow down a little more around here as we get into a new rhythm, but I do plan on continuing.
So while I'm not as far along as I had hoped I would be at this point, I'm still here.

A few small changes
| Photo by Anonymous Account |
I'm slowly working, and there are a few new changes. I've set up a new temporary design as I work on something more permanent. I have also set up some new social media accounts with the temporary design. I have a Facebook page, a Google+ page and can now be found on Twitter at @justkaybee, which is a (relatively) new name. I am also setting up a new rss feed, so if you get this in a reader, you will need to update the feed.
All of these links can be found in my sidebar on the right.
There are going to be many more changes coming, but I wanted to update you on what was happening so far. I also have a few real posts coming soon, so hopefully things will start picking up around here.

Here we go again
Last year, I kind of dropped this project, but I'm really hoping to pick it back up again now.
So much has changed in the past year (since it has been almost a year since I last posted). I did attend BlogHer in August, and I had a great time. I learned a lot, but I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked. I wasn't as social as I had hoped either, mostly because I was pregnant, and early enough to not really want to share the news and tired enough that I just wanted to be napping. I didn't stay for any of the parties, and I was not good at keeping in touch with the very nice people I met. I would love to attend again next year, especially since it is in Chicago, but I don't see that working with such a young baby. Maybe 2014.
There is a lot I have to figure out, like where I want to take this blog. How much do I actually want to share. So basically, there are major changes to come. Hopefully it won't be months before they arrive.

Change is hard
Why was I having such a hard time pulling the trigger on changing my twitter name? I was never that attached to my original name, so what gives? It's because change is hard. And scary.
What is even scarier is when change happens around you. I've been away for too long, just about completely out of the loop. While going through my rss reader and twitter list, I saw how much everyone else changed. People had babies, people are pregnant, people are no longer blogging.
Just as other people have changed, I have to as well. As of tonight, I can be found on twitter at @iamjustkaybee. And soon, my domain will be updated too. This is no longer the new baby adventures, since the baby isn't new, and can hardly even be called a baby anymore. I'm not a new mommy, I'm just kaybee.

Happy New Year!
So much for getting the redesign completed for the new year.
I still have a ton to do, but I am going to take another pass at the #SITS31DBBB challenge. Hopefully that will help me finish the redesign that I've been working on for what seems like forever.
By tonight, I'm hoping that I'll have the new domain and twitter name set up.
Things aren't working for me the way that they are at the moment, as evidenced by the fact that I haven't posted in two months. I'm hoping that participating in this challenge will help me to refocus so that this blog works for me instead of just being work.
Here's to an exciting new year!

I promise I wasn't lying (exactly)
I know that I said that I would be back soon, writing regularly. That was months ago.
This week I am planing on working on the changes and at least get them started. It's my goal to get the redesign finished in time for the new year.
But first, there will be new posts. Starting this week. So stay tuned.

Explained in Thirty Seconds
Day 1 of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge on SITS (a few days late).
I had a hard time with this, mostly because I'm not sure where I am going with this blog. Today (if today was Monday, which it obviously isn't, but let's pretend) I am supposed to write an elevator pitch for my blog. How do you explain in thirty seconds something that you aren't sure about?
So I pulled from my "About Me" page, which I had worked so hard on.
It reminded me of where I started. Even though I haven't been blogging all that long, I had lost what I wanted to do here. I'm afraid that I was starting to think of this as a "baby" blog, which it was never intended to be. This blog is supposed to be my release, my path. While I will talk about the baby, and some of the things that we are doing, he isn't my focus here. I am.
So, my new (work in progress) elevator pitch:

The Challenge
To help motivate me, I'm going to join the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge with the SITS Girls. I'm late starting, so I am going to be playing catch-up, and I hope that it won't take me too long.
This is me throwing my hat into the ring.

The End of the Holidays
January 6th. The twelfth day of Christmas. The day my family would take down the Christmas decorations, as it really was over at that point. The day that my house goes from this:
to this:
But while it is the end of the season, it's also the beginning of a new year. While January 1st is technically the start of the new year, it is surrounded by the holiday fog. So I am getting a late start on my resolutions.
I have a very busy January, and probably won't be around too much, but that will change in February.
My plan is to have the redesign completed by the end of this month. Starting in February, I'm going to be starting anew. I want to do more and explore with the Baby, and I want to figure out the balance between being "Mommy" and being "Me". I plan on coming here for my release.
See you all on the other side.

Resolution FAIL
Happy New Year everyone!
One of the things that I had promised myself was that I was going to start posting regularly. Here it is, January 3rd, and I've already fallen behind.
I have a cold, and in the past, I've always been able to stop and rest to get myself better. Unfortunately, the Baby doesn't seem to like that plan. So the cold is lasting, and I'm now about to enter a very busy part of the month. I'm hoping that I'll find time to post, but chances are I won't.
So maybe I start posting regularly in February? Hopefully sooner, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to swing it.
This is also screwing with my plan to have the redesign completed for the new year. Fail number 2.
I don't know how everyone else seem to have time for all these projects. How do you get everything done?

Maybe I should cancel cable...
I've been a little MIA recently. The Husband and I have actually been spending the time together. Watching Dexter. We've started season one on Netflix streaming. We have one episode left. (Let me tell you, it was hard to not watch that last episode at midnight last night, but we really needed to sleep.)
That is why I can't start new tv shows, I get too involved. Strange how when I had a full time job, I had so much more time for tv. I watched so many more shows, and I still had time for a pretty full social life. Now I've broken up with most of my tv shows, and I feel like I can't get it all in. I knew that I would be busy once the Baby was born, but I had no idea exactly how busy I would be.
So while I think that my husband would flip out if I actually canceled cable, I am going to cut back on what I am watching. I am falling behind on everything, not just here. I'm hoping that I'll be able to focus on the revamp, as well as some consulting work that I am trying to line up. I look around, and I see all these moms who have it all together, and I feel like I am flailing around. It's time for me to get my stuff together, both online and off.
Here's to hoping that I can get more consistent with my posting.

Please bear with me
I'm still planning on revamping this entire blog, including (hopefully) moving to a new domain. It's slower going than I had originally planned on. We've been dealing with sleeping issues (in that none of us is getting any), and I have been using my nights for other things, like spending time with my husband. Hopefully, the sleep will get better, and I'll be able to do a bit more here.

Where are we?
I'm (slowly) moving over to a new domain. I am also planning flexing some long dormant computer skills and will redesign, so things might look a little hectic around here for a few days. I'll see you on the other side.

I'm getting my act together
I have a super short attention span. I'm constantly starting new projects, it is one of the reasons that I haven't really focused on this blog yet. There will probably be some big changes in the near future with the layout and even the domain. Like I said before, I need to figure out the best way to get this to work for me, and I haven't quite done that yet, but I hope to soon.
